It is an inflammation of the balance nerve. Viruses are blamed as the cause. The patient may have had a cold a few weeks ago. It suddenly manifests itself with complaints of severe nausea, vomiting and dizziness. Complaints can take days. The patient is hospitalized and serum therapy is started. Medications to relieve dizziness, nausea and vomiting can be given intravenously. There is no hearing loss in the patient.
