Wrinkles and sagging appear on the upper eyelid and puffiness arise under the eye with the effect of aging. This creates a tired and aged appearance.
Palatoplasty is about removal of this sagging skin on the upper and lower eyelids and removal of the fat pockets.
In general, blepharoplasty is performed under local anaesthesia. If the patient does not desire local anaesthesia or any additional surgery is planned, general anaesthesia may be applied. The surgery takes about one hour for both eyelids. The patient can go home immediately after the surgery.
